  I was researching food that you should avoid for gout and found out that contradicting to my limited knowledge, soy products are actually not bad for gout. So, eating tofu and soy based faux meat is actually permissible and is unlikely to cause a gout attack which is a revelation to me. It is still on a trial and error basis but I think being able to eat soy products does open up options. Lean meat such as chicken (without skin) is also fine, if taken in small quantity.
