Missing Korean BBQ?

After binging on K-drama this entire duration of MCO4.0, my craving for Korean BBQ is beyond suppression. Dining-in is still not permitted and I just have to improvise to satisfy my appetite for samgyeopsal lettuce wrap.

It’s easy.
Don't have a Korean BBQ grill? Just grill the pork belly on a normal pan. Cut the pork belly strip to about 1cm thick so that it cooks quicker. Marinate with a bit of salt. Add a drizzle of oil onto the pan and sear the meat for about 4 minutes on each side. The fat from the pork belly will dissolve as you grill. Brown some sliced garlic or onion in the melted lard, which you can add to your lettuce wrap later. Once the meat is slightly brown on both sides, use a scissors and cut the meat into bite size chunks. Saté for a few more minutes And it’s ready.
For lettuce, I use romaine. A tip I learned for crunchy salad greens is to soak the lettuce in ice cold water before consuming. Even though the greens are kept in the fridge it loses moisture and becomes soft.
Always have a bottle of kimchi in the fridge. You can add kimchi to soups, fried rice, noodle and it will add a tang any flavor.
Now you can have samgyeopsal wraps in the comfort of your home, Stay safe and gamsahamnida.
